iwperl for OD 6.1

Hello,
since OD doesnt come with iwperl... and i usally use the iw-perl\bin\iwperl that comes with teamsite if teamsite was installed on the machine. but incase of i have just opendeploy in the machine. how can i get iwperl? is there standlone installtion?

and when i tried to use the iwperl on teamsite, it seems like there are issues in versions of iwperl? i m on TS 6.5 SP2... this is the error:

Is your machine loaded with perl ? Is this a DOS box or Unix ? For DOS, you may need to download active state's perl.

You *should* be able to use any 5.8 rev perl with the pms that are included with OpenDeploy

i am DOS box... so if the only solution is to download activestate Perl.. would it be able to run .ipl files? maybe it will compile .pm .. but how would i run .ipl? i was thinking i always have to use iwperl to run .ipl

Nope, normal perl will run ipl. I do that often on my XP laptop without iwperl.

The ipl files that are in the solutions dir in OD-HOME will use the local perl modules, so you should not need to build any modules.

You can either run the scripts as 'perl foo.ipl' or add a file association for ".ipl" to point to your perl engine - either should work just fine.

What you won't be able to do is use TeamSite modules (by default) as they won't exist - and some of them won't work even if you copy them to your other server as they depend on TeamSite internals which you definitely will not have there.

The solutions dir includes iwxml.pm and i18n_utils.pm which should work with your activestate perl.

That will be very helpful when developing DNRs.

And neither of those are TeamSite modules - though perhaps to be clearer I should have said TeamSite::* modules wouldn't be present.
