Hi

Customer is moving content from broadvision to Teamsite.

They can create an extract from broadvision in a delimited file containing content and metadata.

Question is: Is there a tool I can use in TeamSite to create a script to read through delimited file and create dcrs with assoiciated fields and metatags?

If so is there a sample script anywhere.

There is no such tool, since all of the DCR's aer different, but what you are describing can be done very easily.

First, work out the DCT/DCR design, and how it should be structured.

Then, write a perl script to parse a tab delimited file and create DCR's one by one.

You possibly could use a product from Nahava to do this. However, IMHO, you will probably be better of scripting it yourself.

In my current gig we wrote a script to take from XLS to TS. Took about 9 weeks, though this was very complex (with mediabin, DB2 and perl modules to read from XLS). This can also be accomplished in a much shorter time by limiting your scope.

my *very old* best practice templating document has a sample of doing exactly this task - not XLS files, but comma-delimited ones.

I keep forgetting its location in the tech library, though....
