error message with autoprivate.cfg

Hi,

I have an empty autoprivate.cfg but yet my iwtrace logs are full off the following errors.


[Thu Jan 18 11:33:37 2007] TStorageHandle_ASCII::GetErrorCount 1
[Thu Jan 18 11:33:37 2007] File E:\iw-home\local\config\autoprivate.cfg has invalid format. Discarding entire file

Now i was under the impression that an empty autoprivate.cfg file was ok but obviously not.

Any suggestions?

If you don't want to use autoprivate.cfg - remove it completely. You'll get warnings about it missing, but it doesn't cause any problems.

Alternatively create a simplistic autoprivate.cfg file - one that is virtually empty - but that has the complete structure of a real autoprivate.cfg file.

A bigger question though is why don't you want to use an autoprivate.cfg file? It's a useful feature of the system.

Is your autoprivate.cfg file completely blank ?
Working with TS 5.5.2, I am not much sure about this, you can try with writing just some comments into it [........] and try again.

That message is annoying but very common. You may want to set up an autoprivate.cfg that is legal but does nothing.

It is pretty easy to do. Or just make .temp, .bak, .old files as private. That is the better (IHMO) way to go. I have developers that still do not realize TS is a version control system and I end up with those.

Also, if you use a lot of templates, you may want to make the zz_ files (and zz_*.mf which are in templatedata on my sys) private as well.
