Error in generating asp pages

I hav created DCT and presentation templates. I am able to generate html pages using this DCT and presentation templates. But,when i try to generate asp pages using the same presentation template, i am getting error. I hav changed extension to asp in templating.cfg
Do i need to change anything else to start creation of asp pages ?

In addition to "what", also indicate "where/when" (i.e. during PT processing, or during the actual preview of the page within the browser after PT processing)?

If the former, have you tried to debug using iwpt_compile.ipl's -ocode flag?

If you're getting the first error - it's happening after the generation step - it's happening when it's trying to render the generated page on the "customer web server" which makes me think that your "customer web server" (IIS?) isn't properly configured for ASP pages.

I think you r right. But what configuration has to be done in IIS to enable generation of asp pages ? Can u tell me .....
I hav allowed permissions in Web Service Extensions in IIS Manager for ASP pages. Do i need to do anything else...............

Again - it's not that IIS has to allow generation of ASP pages - it's that it has to allow them to be run / rendered.

I do not know the innards of IIS by heart (and hope never to have to) - perhaps someone else can point you in the right direction, but in the meantime you might want to do some searching through the IIS documentation and/or google to see if you can find the information you need (keep in mind the version of IIS as I believe the configuration steps may be different for different versions)
