error importing PDF files

Hi all,
We are just getting started with MediaBin 4.5.3. I'm in the process of loading documents. I'm having trouble with uploading PDF files. I get the following error message:

"Print to image Warning: Process Terminated
Exception in Primative {1E885AE1}! Reason = Problem in RIP
Message = PDFDecoder: Error ripping page content"

Is this a simple problem in the set up?

Jennifer,

Have you installed and configured BlackIce printer driver? This is required for PDF and MS Office documents. Please refer to the additional installation section of the Asset Server Admin Guide.

We had a vendor set up the mediabin server and they supposedly installed the BlackIce drivers. I will contact them. Thx!

I would look into the installation of Acrobat. One thing to test is whether you can open a PDF on the server machine. Sometimes new installations of Acrobat require a user to click through a license the very first time. Since we load Acrobat programatically , there is nobody there to click!

Another thing to check is whether Office Docs are experiencing any problems (test Word or Excel, PPT does not use Black Ice).
