Email in WFB Example doesn't work

I was tryin out the examples from WFB5.0 - WFB_Author_Assignment_with_Email.wft . BUT I didn't get any email from the workflow. What is servlet_email anyway? How do I check why it doesn't work?

I haven't looked at this workflow, but have you modified the iw.cfg file to set up your email server and domain?

yes, and the examples in "wft\default" & "wft\examples" works fine BUT "wft\wfb" doesn't work for the email part...

I don't have a .../wft/wfb directory in my installation. I'm assuming this is a Workflow Builder directory, and I don't use Workflow Builder to create my workflows, so I can't help you much with Workflow Builder generated wlrkflows. If the example workflows in the other directories work fine, just use the way emails were implemented in those examples instead of how they were implemented in the /wfb examples.

At our site using 4.5.1 on NT the workflow builder produced invalid code send e-mail. I ended up recoding that portion of the workflows and have not used workflow builder since then.

WFB is only good (IMHO) to get you started. Once you get one workflow that does what you want, copy it and make necessary changes.

I reported this as a bug in the 5.0.1 version of WFB last July. I'm a little surprised that it hasn't been fixed yet. I really wish IWOV would open up the bugs database to end users.
