Help Needed: TS Workflow
andrew_yeo
hi,
anyone willing to share "real working" workflow templates for me to try some workflow exercises?
Perhaps a WF that does this:
Allows Authors to select files for submission for Approval
- Author check the files;
- select the Approver;
- defaults the workarea path;
- send email to Approver;
- Approver Approve/Reject;
- so forth....
my TeamSite installations are:
* TeamSite v5.0.1
* TS - Workflow Builder v5.0
Or any "real working" examples will do. Thanks a million!

Basic workflows that do pretty much everything you are asking for are shipped with TeamSite. You should go through the Tutorial that can be found in the Workflow Developer's Guide.

Try examples/serial_approval_with_email_with_metadata.wft that ships with the product.

tried that thanks, but how do i remove the "Set Metadata" usertask and make it work. i just need something to make reference to in order to get started....
btw, have all of you who are working on TS-Workflow attended any formal training on the topic? trying to master it by self-learning is not proving to be productive... well....

It would be rather difficult for people to walk you through the basics of workflow in either this type of forum or through emails. You should really consider taking the Interwoven Workflow training. If your company is expecting you to pick up and run with workflow, they should be willing to pay for the training so you can learn workflow properly. There's no way you're going to pick up everything you need to know by asking specific questions and putting it all together. Get your company to send you to training. Once you have the basics down, it will all start to make sense.

I agree with David. You should go for some formal training on workflow (and Advanced workflow?). Once you know the basics, you can apply these to your real world workflow problems. This will help you in learning the more advanced aspects of TS-workflow. This method has worked for most of us.
