Automatic erroneous duplication of text from one DCR field to another
aliceharris
Two of our users have reported a problem when editing form entry files (DCRs): The contents of one DCR form field can be automatically copied into a different field, completely overwriting the original contents of the second field. At the moment we are not sure if this happens as soon as the DCR is opened for editing, or if it happens when the user moves their mouse from one field into another.
It seems to happen only with fields that use the Visual Format toolbar, but most of our fields do, so we can't be sure if the toolbar is related to this or not.
It is NOT consistent - we TeamSite admins can't reproduce the problem, and neither can the two users who reported it, although one of them has noticed it at least a couple of times in the past. She can't tell me anything similar about the circumstances in which it happened though, so at them moment we have no leads for investigating this further. Also, we think it doesn't happen often, otherwise we'd have had many more reports of it.
We think it is NOT just a user error - at least one of the users is very technically-savvy and we don't think he would have done this by just accidentally copying-and-pasting the content.
It's happened on at least two PCs, both fairly new machines running Windows XP Service Pack 2. We're using TeamSite 6.5.0 Service Pack 1 (build 46458).
Obviously, I'm not expecting a solution, since this is so vague, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar?

Hi,
even i had faced an issue similar to this. as a temporary workaround we chnaged the Visual format from an internal to an external editor. This does not solve this problem but reduces the probability of it occuring. I look forward to hear more about this issue or to know if anyone knows the cause for this to happen.
