They are both XML so yes - as a basic concept they are both able to be parsed.

However, if your DCT is using inline scripts and/or FormAPI code to manipulate the DCT and its contents - then you may find what you want to do much more difficult.

DCT is again structured in xml format and there is no reason why cant u do this. But if you have to do such kind a things then I would definitely say you need to revisit your design to see what are other optimal ways to handle your requirements.

Using formAPI you can achieve lot of things.. Basically you have to use formAPI to achieve what you mentioned you want to achieve
