DCT Layout

Good day,

I am working with TeamSite 6.5 in a windows 2003 environment.

The requirement: My client has a library of documents from which there would be five or more of these documents attached to each DCR.

They would like to be able to add and remove these document in the DCTs using functionality like in the attached JPG.

All the available documents would be listed in the left Select, all the selected documents would be in the right Select and the 2 buttons in between would be used to move the documents between the 2 boxes.

The problem: I can't get the layout in the JPG into the DCT. Is it possible?

I played with the rowcontinue option and containers and I can't get it.

If this is not possible, are there any other suggestions to meet this requirement?

I think you would need to use a cgi-callout and then use HTML/JS code within the callout to do what you want as far as the UI is concerned, and then use FormAPI code to insert the resulting selections back into the DCT in some format (e.g.: comma-separated, semicolon-separated, etc.)

It is not too tough. I have implemented it.

You need 2 select lists with 2 check boxes in between (use row continue). The check boxes act like buttons, so on change of those, clear the selection then do the add/remove.

The JS needed was not trivial, esp when you need multi-select and to cover for duplicate selections.

Finally, depending on what level of TS you have, you will have an issue. There is a bug in 6.0, 6.1 and 6.5 (patch 1661 available for 6.5 SP2), it is fixed in 6.7.1 (but not 6.7). The bug is that if you create and save a dynamic list (the right select list), when you open the DCR again, it is in a totally random order. If you only have a couple items in the list, no big deal, if you have a bunch, you need the patch.

You can even feign arrow buttons. Like that:[html]

[/html]Formatting and spacing issues are ugly though. Other things being equal I would personally prefer to code my own CGI as Ghoti suggested
