Branch And Sub Branch Security Access

Hi Everyone - Need some guidance regarding Branch and Sub Branch secuirty access.

I've Branch which list all my DCTs now I created sub branch call Information and using copy to function copied announcement DCT code with in Information sub branch. So far so good. Next, since I want only certain user have access to this sub branch so created another group called TN_Information and list users. Now I login into CCSTD using one of the users creditential and surely I am only able to see Workarea of sub branch but unforuntely when I click on New Form for announcement DCT. I get Unable to read //dev.bonk.com/default/main/World/Information/WORKAREA/world/templatedata/world/annoucement/datacapture.cfg due to a security issue. Please contact your system administrator.

I noticed that since announcement DCT was copy to from branch to sub branch. It didn't inherit group TN_Information.

Can anyone guide me to right path please? Thank you as always.

I believe you have answered your own question. You can validate this by looking at the properties of the DCT (datacapture.cfg). It should show you which groups have what level of access to that file.

Did you try adding TN_Information as a group with appropriate permissions on the DCT file and see if it resolves the issue? You should be able to do this via IFS (Y Smiley Happy

Ideally you want to setup a submit configuration (submit.cfg) to populate appropriate group read/write permissions so you don't have to manually change it.

The TeamSite Admin Guide has this fairly well documented. Search for submit.cfg in that document. There is also a submit.cfg.example that you can refer to on your TeamSite installation.

Basically you want to configure submit.cfg so that it changes the permissions on the DCT files upon Submit to have the correct read/write access.

I made changes to submit.cfg as required by project. Question still remains:-

I have Branch called Information and it is assigned to particular group. Information Branch contains all my files and data. Now I created sub branch called TM_Information and it is assigned to different group. Now from Branch Information I used copyto with TS to copy certain DCT and its files to sub branch TM_Information. When I am login under TM_Information I get message stating Unable to read //www.yahoo.com/default/main/Information/TM_Information/WORKAREA/Yahoo/templatedata/Yahoo/annoucement/datacapture.cfg due to a security issue. Please contact your system administrator.

Bascially this file datapcature.cfg and other files should have TM_Information group access. By looking at properties security it doesn't. It keeps previous security that was in Information Branch.

Any assistance here please? Thanks in advanced.

Did you submit the DCT in question after copying over? The permission change according to submit configuration will take affect on Submit. Once you submit the DCT, it should have the TM_Information information (assuming you have the submit.cfg configured properly)

And that you've run iwreset after modifying the submit.cfg before you do the submit ...
