Searching For Documents

I am trying to build a search tool. I want to be able to search for =, >, >=, <, <=, or contains a sub string. Currently I am using IManProfileSearchParameters. The following example is similar on what I want to:

Custom1 = 12234

Custom2 > 1/30/2006

Custom3 != 8

Custom4 contians “*Test*”

What is the best approach to achieve this?

I don’t think IManProfileSearchParameters will do what I want to do.

The search values for lookup fields must be exact.
