tinymce new lines and general config

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to change the default line breaks in tinymce from p tags to br tags? In a normal installation of tinymce you'd do it in the init function with something like this:

tinyMCE.init({
...
force_br_newlines : true
});

The issue with this is that we don't seem to have any access to the tinyMCE.init function which looks to be provided on the fly by web-app.

Can someone please tell me I'm reading this wrong as without access to the basic configuration this is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Have you tried the configuration entry

force_br_newlines : true ?

as in:
IWTinyMCECustomConfig("your_id", "force_br_newlines","true");
