TS 5.5.1/Solaris Performance dies on iwlistlocks

We have about 2000 files in a Workarea and do iwlistlocks from the Browser gui. Performance is running low, sometimes the iwserver couldn't shutdown clean.
The files are in several directories and subdirectories, never exceeding 200 Files per directory.
Sometimes we got a nearly stopping system.
Has anyone got similiar experiences?
