I cannot get getGroups() to work from a Form API perspective, has anyone tried this??

Maybe a tad more info ? What are you getting ? I have never tried this command, but I can know out a sample pretty quick.

BTW, this worked for me:


 var groups = new Array ();
 groups = IWDatacapture.getGroups();
 for (i = 0; i < groups.length; i++){
  alert ("you are a member of group "+groups);
 }

Gave both AD groups and my local groups.

OOh it works for me too, thanks a lot. I missed the point hat it was an array.

I have this problem getting users for that particular group.

Say i have a group "DLIWD51\MYGROUP"

if i say IWDatacapture.getUser() gives me my name, but not the users from the group i want, is there a funstion to get users from that particular group?

That is probably because getUser returns the user logged on to this form.

You may need to do a callserver to the server to get that info. You *should* be able to make a query to AD from JS, but I do not know how. I have done it in perl.
