Creating Subbranch

I am TS6.5 sp2 on win 2000. I am having this issue while creating subbranches.

I have Parent Branch called Branch1, under that i am creating Branch2 and Branch3, while creating Branch 2 i didn't face any problem,i started from scratch creating templatedata inside it and all, but later now when i am trying to do the same thing with Branch 3 it is not allowing me to do so.

IT is copying all that is present in the Parent branch into this Branch3. Please let me know where i am going wrong.

When you created the branch, it asks you what edition to base it off of. If this branch is just another location under the parent, then it should inherit no files and you should use the Initial Edition to do that.
