Error - The Interwoven Web Daemon was unable ...
HarryPaul
I have installed evalution copy of teamsite6.5.2 and Livesite2.2.1 on Win2k. And i am facing strange problem. Very often i am getting following error when i login to temaiste UI.
"The Interwoven Web Daemon was unable to contact the Interwoven Servlet Engine. The Interwoven Servlet Engine may be down, or running on an unexpected host or port.
Please contact your system administrator. "
After refreshing the page/browser mulitiple times, UI is displayed correctly and error goes away. And things work properly for some time and then again the same error reoccurs without any reasons and i have to keep reshreshing the page till it goes away.
This error comes anywhere, click of button, link on UI.
Can somebody help me on this.
Thanks
Paul

What are the message iwtrace.log and iwui/servletd.log Can you check these log files and if you can find any weird error messages?

What i feel is that you have installed a EVL Copy , That EVL copy would have certain expry date . and most probabily it would have got expired.
TS , Checks the License randomnly. (At any Random Moment of Time ).
Sometimes your sys works because the License is not being checked at that time.
When ever you are facing the problem , Open the Services of your WIN2K , youwould see that the services of either servletd or webd are stopped.
if you try to start one then the other stops automatically.
If this is not the license issue , then pls check the Logs .

One more reason could be the Free space , for eg.in our Unix box we write the Logs in a Particular directory.
We have noticed that whenever the Free Space is less , we face some similar type of errors after logging into TS.
