Extended Attribute Issue

Hi,

I am adding the two extended attribute on datacapture.cfg file.
I have added the one text item and one drop down list with "yes" and "no" values.

I am finding my EAs set on files but one extra attribute is comming for drop down list.

Attribute is coming as TeamSite/Metadata/Edit/Yes:y when i am selecting the value "Yes" for drop down list
and Attribute is coming as TeamSite/Metadata/Edit/No:y when i am selecting the value "No" for drop down list

I have added "Edit" as the new drop down item. I dont want that extra EA on file.
What i have to do for that. Please suggest me.

Which extra EA, you are talking about?

This is a very familiar issue for me. It occurs when you edit the metadata of a file using the default metadata tagging CGI, by using File -> Tag from the CCPro menu.

If I set a piece of metadata {Key} to have the value {Value}, I'll end up with two pieces of metadata. Firstly the correct one:

TeamSite/Metadata/{Key}: {Value}

But you also end up with

TeamSite/Metadata/{Key}/{Value}: y

You can manually remove it using iwextattr - but it will keep getting created each time, so you'll have to keep removing it each time.

That's just the way TS EAs work if you don't like it - open a case with IWOV Support and see what they have to say....
