Scheduled Task

TS 6.5 SP2 on Windows.

I was wondering if anyone has ever written a perlscript to stop a scheduled task on the server.

If so i need some direction as how to do it, or say a module which will help me acheive this.

I think it will depend on how it is scheduled. What did you use ?

General Windows sceduler to run a perlscript everyday at 7:00am. its that simple.

End user wants some script so that he can make the script not to run for that day..

Is it possible using perl?

Depending on which version of Windows you're using, try either the 'at.exe' command or the 'schtasks.exe' command. If you're trying to do this from Perl, the tricky part will be using e.g. "at.exe" to get a list of scheduled tasks, parse the output (call it using backticks with &2>1), grab the task ID and then use "at.exe /delete" to remove it. Note that this removes the task completely, so if you just want to cancel the task for one instance, you'll have to reschedule it either manually or in your script.

Thank you so much. But here i am dealing with Windows 2000. I guess schtasks.exe only works with Windows 2003. Please advice as what is equivalent of it in Windows 2000.

at.exe seems to work fine for me. But here i have a problem, is there a way to set the "Start in" for any of these tasks created this way?

i.e Start in is the directory in which you want the system to execute the sceduled task from.

Does not look like it, you may need to wrap the command in a perl script and implement that in the script.
