Poll: How do you guys organize your multi-language sites?

Assuming you only have English and Spanish, how do you guys organize your content? Any pros and cons inherent in your method?

Option 1) Sub-branch by language

  /default/main/internet/en/  .... English content branch
  /default/main/internet/es/  .... Spanish content branch

Option 2) Differentiate with a top-level directory

  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/en/index.html
  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/es/index.html

Option 3) Differentiate with locale directories at every level

  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/foodir/en/index.html
  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/foodir/es/index.html
  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/bardir/en/index.html
  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/bardir/es/index.html

Option 4) Append locale to file names directly

  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/foodir/index_en.html
  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/foodir/index_es.html

Option 5) English-centric

  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/foodir/index.html
  .../internet/WORKAREA/x/foodir/index_es.html
or.../internet/WORKAREA/x/foodir/es/index.html

Really the different language sites I have worked on have been subsets of the main site. So Option 5 with specific language homepages available, but not complete sites.
