Delete his C:/iwtemp directory after taking a backup and try again. If the user is still not able to do the edits check for JRE version on the users system.

If none works, please post JVM version on User's machine, OS and Service pack, Browser and Service pack information

Did the user upgrade his JRE in recent times? JRE 1.4 is the supported one. Please check.
