Teamsite Admin - Staffing Estimate

I'm looking for a grounded staffing model for the TeamSite Administrator role so that we can estimate the future staff size.

Our TeamSite role does the following: Support is for major projects, enhancements and production support issues. Maintenance of user profiles, creation of new branches, on-boarding of new sites, implementing upgrades and patches, management of content deployments.

We are on-boarding more web properties into TeamSite and need to determine how many TeamSite Admins we need to support the efforts.

We are considering factors like: Number of deployment sites, Technology of deployment sites, Web Pages, Content Users, Complexity. and Expected production incidents.

Anyone have any insights in how I can come up with a predictive model?

how big is the implementation? - how many sites, any integration with app servers involved, LDAP, etc... Thi sall will determine expected workloads, I guess

I doubt you can come up with a template that says, 3 man hours support per week per template, 2 per workflow, 5 per deployment, etc. I *think* that was what you were hoping for.

TS happens to be much more complex and less deterministic than that. One major factor is the quality of the implementation. I have seen some large systems run on autopilot since there are few bugs/enhancements required. I have also seen projects that are never done due to "just another change please".

Of course this is also dependent on who does the project. I have seen quotes of 2-3 weeks for a task that I know I (or Greg, Adam, others on this board) could do in a few hours.
