facing problem with setVisible

Hi all,

I am trying to make a text item visible based on the option selected in radio type and I am using setVisible for that item. I am unavble to get that to work. Could anyone let me knw if I am missing something.

radio option: Internal
External

if Internal selected, browse item of Internal should be made visible
if External selected, text item of External should be made visible

Attached is my dct.

Environment: Solaris 9, TS 6.7.1

What happens when you do this ? What alerts do you see ?

Whenever there is an itemChange I am able to see alerts till

Internal link selected

if Internal link is selected

and if external link is selected I am able to see alerts till

External link selected

Its not throwing or moving to alert where I am setting setVisible.

Are you getting any value for the radio button selected in your variable - subLinkType ?

The values I am getting are ...

for Internal "I"
for External "E"

whenever there is an Itemchange, it coming into the if loop and giving me the first alert present in "if loop" in both the cases.

Issue is, it is not getting the second alert in both the "if loops", which I feel there must be some problem in my second line of "if loops" where I am setting setVisible.

The only other thing i can fetch out is the links container missing from Xpath:
IWDatacapture.getItem("/links/QuicklinksSection/QL_externallink").setVisible(false);

"links" is my root-container.. Should I be not mentioning it there...

It should be ... whereas while making QL_externallink setVisible as false, you missed that.

Oops, ok I modified my changes now ....
even then the problem exists...

The issue is in "if loops" after giving out first alerts, it looks like its losing at second line in both of them, unable to set the setVisible(true) ... and so I am not getting the second alert I have in either of the "if loops"

the Xpath should be built as below

IWDatacapture.getItem("/links/QuicklinksSection["+i+"]/QL_externallink").setVisible(false);
where i is the index of the container.

using
IWDatacapture.getItem("/links/QuicklinksSection["+1+"]/QL_externallink").setVisible(false);
will hide external link element in the first container.

But from where you get the value of i, for every replicant?
