Hi,

Iam working on a particular tpl named as Listing.tpl,which needs values from a DCR already created .This presentation template for listing shouldl pick up these Workshop DCRs, parse them and get the information required to be captured.
This needs the XMLarser i guess,iam very new to Perl,can anyone help me out.......

You could use TeamSite::XMLparser. You could use some other approach to parsing it (e.g. XML:OM), but XMLparser has the virtue of coming with TeamSite and having certain some accomdations to understand the format of DCRs, so that you accessor strings (essentially like XPath) are a bit more compact.

However, for what you want to do, it sounds like a call to <iw_load_dcr> (see page 120 or so of the Templating Developer's Guide), will probably get you where you need to go with a minimal amount of fuss.

I've used this approach before with clients who wanted to include a left hand navigation menu which was built from a DCR. The PT for the leftnav is a component template that takes one parameter from the host template to identify which leftnav DCR it should load. It then uses <iw_load_dcr> to alias that DCT to a variable, menu for instance. Then one can make calls to iw_iterate, iw_value, etc. using menu.<whatever> in the name attribute.

I would post a code snippet, but I haven't one handy at the moment. The examples in the Developer's guide should at least get you started.
