Receivers running as Virtual Servers

Hello-
A client asked me today if OpenDeploy receiver supports (or can run) on a Virtual Server. My guess is that NO, it cannot but I was required to ask in this forum anyways.
The errors that the client is receiving is: ***ERROR - Read attributes from receiver failed, got null.

This is a Win2003 server (virtual box according to the client).
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Virtual server aka VMWare ? Sure that works. I do it all the time.

I use Linux and Windows versions on VMWare and have never had an issue.
