TS 5.5.2 and the new DLS

so far it seems that the new day light saving issue is solved for all supported interwoven products. but our new teamsite wont go to production till MAY/2007. in the mean time we are still using TS 5.5.2 of course wont be able to upgrade the JRE to 1.4.1 but Java came up with TZupdater for 1.3.1 which TS 5.5.2 supports and this is the link:

time stamp is not an important part of our content in teamsite but we would like to be in sync with the world time wise if it is possible. so do you think it is safe to use the tzupdater that Java Sun came up with for 1.3.1 version?

Do you have much of a choice ? No. This *should* work, but it won't be supported. But then neither is 5.5.2.

Would I make that change ? Doubtful.

Do you have a test server you can try it on before ? Or is that already upgraded ?

. well 5.0.2 is also using 1.3.1 so i will test the updater on there... i guess my test will be install and make sure ts is running fine? not changin the clock to see if the time stam p changes?

these are my steps to install ( i just made them up from the document interwoven released lately. also i think there is an error in that document "Upgrade_jdk_TeamSite.pdf" page 3 the windows part step 6.

and these are the steps:

To Install the updater:
1. Download the tzupdater-****.zip from Sun's website.
2. Unzip the zip file to C:\temp, it should create the directory C:\temp\tzupdaterxxxx
3. Stop Interwoven Servlet Engine from the Windows Services Panel
4. Copy the whole directory \tools\java to \tools\java-orig
5. On a DOS prompt, cd to C:\temp\tzupdaterxxxx
6. Run this in DOS "\tools\java\bin\java -jar tzupdater.jar -u -v"
7. Start Interwoven Servlet Engine from the Windows Services Panel

Roll Back
To roll back the JDK if you encounter any issue after the update:
1. Stop Interwoven Servlet Engine in Windows Service Panel
2. Rename \tools\java to \tools\java-dst-patched
3. Rename \tools\java-orig to \tools\java
4. Start Interwoven Servlet Engine in Windows Service Panel

you certainly are a glutton for punishment. Well if it works for 5.0.2, I would feel pretty good that it works for 5.5.2.

Since the dev box is that well maintained, I would go ahead and change the clock ahead and test it out. Then shoot it.
