workflow issue

Hi all,

I have an issue with one of our workflows.

As a part of our workflow we would be asking content provider if they want to update the Index page too.

If they select No here - workflows goes fine
If they select Yes - workflow doesnt start any task, but a job would be intiated.

when I go in workflow tab, I see the job but no Active tasks or completed tasks.

First task in our workflow is an external task, by selecting YES the workflow is not coming even into the external task.

Anyone suggest me where the workflow is getting lost. Attached is my part of the workflow and the first task.

Did you mentioned anywhere in your YES workflow about the external task to be executed immediately?

Put a attribute 'immediate=t' within your external task.

As per manuals 'NO'.

Check for all other variable values too.

Either we need to the script (pr_workflow.ipl) or we need to see more of the WFT than what you attached. The code you attached (which I assume is snippets from distinctly different parts of the WFT) does not seem to do any kind of conditional test on the value of $iw_update_index.

Also ignore the idea about immediate="t" - that's for cgitask's not externaltask's

From little you've posted the only difference between 'Yes' and 'No' is three additional Files you are trying to attach.
Check if they are locked (for example by one of the previously hung workflows). You have your starting task attribute
'lock' set to True, if extra Files are already locked the Task will wait it's turn, possibly indefinitely.

If I were you, I would set 'lock' to false and use 'locktask' instead. This way you can determine locking Success
or Failure and fork your Workflow to process these outcomes accordingly.
