search integration with TS

Is Search 2.0 the only method of searching items stored in TeamSite, or is there an option to integrate a 3d party search engine (aside from MetaTagger)?

Supported ? TS Search is what you need. However you *should* be able to use another search engine on your own withing the backingstore. Obviously it will not search Extended Attributes, but you could do full text search.

It would also be possible to integrate the "other search" into the TS GUI.

So, yes you can do it, is it trivial ? No. Is it worth it ? Not to me, but you make that call.

Cant understand - Why did you refer Metatagger in your post? That is not needed to perform a Search in Teamsite anyhow.. Teamsite Search works with Teamsite metadata capturing capabilities itself .. Metatagger is additional.. Correct me if I am wrong

Correct Metatageer is not rquired for the TS searching. It only enhances your search with the injected metatags driven from taxonomies.

Yes this is the only solution provided with the TeamSite ad is capable of handling all TS assets, areas, metadata, EA's and permissions.

In order to plugin the customized search engine , one needs to user CS api's to interact with TS and will require lot of coding.
