convert XML to DCR

I write the DCR in xml format in the tpl file. and now I want to save that xml as DCR.

I got to knew that want to use iwextattr -s to do this.
but I dont know how to do this. please explain me how to do this.

This is the XML that I wrote in the TPL.

I fixed it to make it a bit more readable - however I think there's a fundamental question here about your understanding DCT's (which you don't mention at all), DCRs (which are the result of filling in a DCT), and PTs (which are used to process a DCR - usually to output something like HTML).

Do you not understand these concepts? Or are you trying to do something "fancy" like generating a DCR of one type from a DCR of another type by processing it with a PT??

You're still not making sense (to me) - in order to have a DCR you must have a DCT. If you have a DTD for the desired structure of the DCR, you can create a DCT to accommodate it and then take the XML (in the correct format and location within the directory structure) and apply the correct EAs to it and TeamSite will treat it as a DCR.

I do not understand where the PT comes in to play with what you are trying to accomplish - so if the above doesn't help - you will have to greatly expand on the context of what you are trying to do.

after creating html I need to create DCR then user can edit that dcr and modify tile.

Are you trying to do some kind of reverse engineering?? You already have html files and from that now you want to convert to dcr?? Is this understanding correct??
Its seems you want to put meat from one end and produce the lamb from the other end!! Well that kind of machine is not available.
On a serious note what you are writing is not making sense at all.

Aah!! After i replace 'tile' with 'file', this post made a little more sense.:-)
Jokes apart, this is what I got from your post:
1. you need HTML as output.
2. you use a tpl to generate that output.
3. Your input is an XML file.
4. Now you want users to edit the HTML.
5. But, you have used the tpl without a corresponding DCT/DCR and now you want to revevrse engineer the XML such that they can edit it as a DCR.

Is this correct....????

Perhaps you need to brush up on your terminology.

A PT (a.k.a. TPL) is an arbitrary program used to process arbitrary input (DCR) to produce arbitrary output (HTML, JSP, XML, etc.)

So perhaps instead of TPL - you really mean IPL (as in Interwoven Perl script) - then this starts to make a bit more sense, but as already been pointed out it still sounds a bit back-asswards (pardon my French).

Why not create the DCT (you seem to have a known DTD for your XML - yes?) and a PT - then, if you want to automate the process of creating the HTML - have the IPL create a DCR associated with the DCT and process it with the PT to generate the HTML - from that point forward you'll be able to maintain the HTML by editing the DCR through FormsPublisher. This is all assuming that you have some external data providing the input to your (eventual) HTML page.

If you do not have such external data - you should just create the DCT and PT and create the DCR the normal way, after which you can Preview or Generate to your heart's content.

I wasn't laughing - I was confused and it sounded like you were too.

Perhaps we still don't understand what you were actually doing because of a language difference - but yes, it would be nice if you would explain what you managed to do to resolve your issue - and if you truly believe the issue is resolved, after you post the information - you should close/lock the thread to indicate as much.

Forum is there to help us developer only. Though the problem with your post is(and already explained by Ghoti) that it sound as if you are trying to do very wired thing. And I am atleast still not clear what was that you wanted to do and how you did it.
