Problem with callServer

Hi

I have problem with IWDatacapture.callServer. Iam execute .ipl file from DCT. my ipl file will return 0 or 1. How can i get that value in DCT.

var params = new Object();
var server = window.location.hostname;
IWDatacapture.callServer("http://"+server+"/iw-bin/plc/test2.ipl","",true);

There is any way get like this
var output;
output=IWDatacapture.callServer("http://"+server+"/iw-bin/plc/test2.ipl","",true);

Nope

The callserver is asynchronous. So you will to provide a callback routine in JS that the Perl will kick off when it completes with the required parameter.

nope. since the formapi is client based and the Perl is server based you will need to use some callserver.

You can use code like attached to return IPL to JS. It takes callback routine DCR path and DCR name and looks to see if it exists (simplified greatly).

There is. The technique is called 'AJAX', unlike callServer it is not proprietary.
I used both and for FormAPI communication would strongly recommend callServer.

'FormsPublisher FormAPI Developer’s Guide' has few samples illustrating 'callbacks' to
DCRs from callSever Perl. Try it and post your code if you have issues with it.
