worksitemp 5 migration

i was curious if anyone has migrated their current worksitemp 4.1 environment to worksitemp 5 as of yet. what experiences have you encountered?

i have a multi library environment (remote and local) with 2 clusters and a lot of web and desktop customizations.

as of now, the server migration does not work properly for multi library environments. they are working on a patch for this.there is no migration tool for the web components piece.
currently i am only working in a single library test enviroment to get some feel for the interface. there are however lots of errors as i navigate from various pages.
any other comments or experiences would be appreciated. I want to make sure i am not in this boat alone.

I am taking my first look at this now. I have a simple, single library setup, with a couple of OM extensions that make it a little wierd. we have migrated this library from 2.0.2, so I'm actually a bit leery about bringing it forward.

I have not seen any 4.1sp1 to 5.0 migration tools or docs, just the couple of pages in the admin guide on migrating a library. I'm not sure if I need to run the OM extension on the standard 5.0 OM to get a 5.0 version of the library...or if there's something else I need to do.

Are there any tools or docs that you're working with?

i received the cd's with the WSMP 5 software and docs. Also downloaded it first from the support website. if it is not there for you, contact support and they can send it your way.

For the 41SP1-50 migration, there is a GUI migration tool. This should works fine as long as you're running it on WSMP 50 P1a. I've heard that this won't work with the base 50.
You just need to make sure to copy the cluster info, copy all previous DAT files, pick the lastest DAT file that matches your curren library and the tool will take care of the rest.

I've run these test on 41SP1 HFB7 under SQL2000, SQL2005. If you're currently on Oracle8i, it's a little trickier since 50 nolonger provide the JDBC to connect to 8i. You'll have to also migrate your 8i to 9i/10g.

i received mine from support. if it is not on yor download listing, call them and ask for it. if not publically released, they might offer a preliminary version.

I am currently testing out a migration from 4.1 to 5.0 SP1.

I have done the following;

1. Installed and configured worksitemp server 5.0 sp1 to connect to Oracle 9i
2. Installed and configured web components 5.0 sp1

3. I have done #1 and #2 with a test library, test realm, test facility admin, test user and test facility. This all works fine.

From the 4.0 installation files I have been supplied, I have

4. copied the 4.1 cluster directory to the 5.0 sp1 cluster directory
5. copied the current 4.1 dat file into the objectmodels directory of the 5.0 sp1 installation.
6. I have imported the 4.1 database dump in the oracle database for this 5.0 sp1 installation.

My issues are

1. Have I done this right? When I do the migration on production, should I set up #3 on the 5.0 sp1 as they are on the 4.1 installation.

2. I have run the migration manager tool and it does not build the local cluster tree;so it is not working.

Any one our here have any ideas, suggestions?

Hi I have a few Bug reported to Interwoven Tech Support and they said those problem had been resolve in WSMP5.0 SP1, but they are not going to release any hot fix to WSMP4.1

The problem is we had did so many customization to WSMP4.1, and we worried after migration to WSMP5.0 it will breaks all our customized function...

Have anyone migrated from 4.1 -> 5.0 successfully and what happen to all the customized function?
