folder structure for templatedata

I'm wanting to add another level of folders inside the templatedata and am running into a problem with being able to declare my DCTs

Here's what I have
templatedata/NEWFOLDER/category/data

if I use
templatedata/category/data - I do no run into any problems.

I've tried chaning the templating.cfg and added the /NEWFOLDER/category for the category name - did not work

I also tried changing the iw.cgf
[teamsite_templating]

data_root=templatedata
data_root=templatedata/NEWFOLDER

I'm guessing it should be relatively simple but I'm missing the right combination to declaring my templates.

Hello,
I didn't use that before but I understan the documentation in the way, that you can use ONE directoryname instead of "templatedata".
I don't think, that you can use a complete directory path with more that one directory there,
but perhaps someone can bring some more light into this...

TS 6.5 and 6.7 admin guide say:

Identifying the Templating Directory
To change the directory in your workareas where templating content will reside, modify the
/etc/iw.cfg file. The default directory is templatedata.

[teamsite_templating]
data_root=directory
