Upgrade and Move Teamsite 6.1

Hi All,

We want to upgrade TeamSite 6.1 to the latest version and also to move it to some different machine.

I am new to the Interwoven. Could you please tell me the steps?

We are also using OpenDeploy version 6.0.

If you are the expert, then your company is in trouble.

Get your boss to bring in a consultant for a couple weeks. Talk to IWOV about getting some help.

If not, then you can upgrade to 6.7.1 by reading the manual and hoping you do not have any issues.

As to moving TS, you did not specify what OS you are running.

On Win boxes we ghost the whole set of drives and copy them to new hardware. Then you need to go in and fix all of the new hostname references. That is not trivial, but if you know what you are doing, it is not that tough. On Unix boxes I tend to do a fresh install and copy over the backingstore, then mount it.

We are moving from one Sun server to another, both running the same Solaris version. The second thing we want to do is to upgrade TS from 6.1 to 6.7. The issues are as follows:

Would it be better to upgrade on the old server and then move the complete setup (via tar) to the new server?

OR

Should we do a fresh install of 6.7 on the new server and just move over the content repository?

Is it all possible to move the content at a file system level?

If you search the forums you should be able to find a number of threads dealing with the issue of upgrading and the various different methods for doing so.

If you check the manuals and/or KB articles on the support site - you should also be able to find information relevant to this - including which versions can be upgraded as-is, and which versions require (or are strongly recommended) to go through an iwmigrate process with regard to the backing store.

Please take the time to do a little searching through past discussions on this matter and then figure out what questions you have that remain unanswered and ask them here.
