Linking to PDF in VisualFormat

When using the New Hyperlink button in VisualFormat to create a new hyperlink to a PDF within the same branch in TeamSite all the windows seem to function properly - i.e. I get thru the correct path to select the file. But after selecting the file I return to the initial new link box (with the browse button) and the link doesn't get transferred to the box, therefore, the link to the file is not created.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue? The VF documentation supplied by Interwoven doesn't cover this situation. I'm using TeamSite 5.0.1 with up to date service packs on a Sun Solaris box.
