solaris to linux migration

we use teamsite 6.5 without SP on solaris 8
we plan to migrate to teamsite 6.7.1 on linux redhat
can we simply duplicate backing store data on new server ?

Check with support for the steps to be followed, that would be better if any issue crops up.

Hopefully you were able to join the DevNet webcast this morning, Meili discussed migration steps for moving from solaris to Linux, and discussed upgrade best practices. It's Called "TeamSite 6.7.1 Upgrade Best Practices" and it will be available tomorrow in the webcast area as a recorded webcast.
