New Workflow Types
System
This bit from page 66 of the WF manual has bothered me ever since 5.0 came out, but I'm just now getting to the point that I am curious enough about it to ask other people:
Note: You can add your own custom workflow types by clicking Add New Type and entering
a new type name in the window that is displayed. The new type is added to the list
when you click OK.
The clear implication of that is that one could define workflows for commands other than tt_data, submit, new_job, etc., but I don't see how that could be the case, as there doesn't seem to be any place to configure a new command to trigger the evaluation of available_templates.ipl (and, by extension, available_templates.cfg). Does anyone know what the author of the manual intended by that?

Darn good question. Imagine that, the TeamSite documentation not being complete...

new workflow types can not be created other than what is available out-of-the-box. the documentation should have explained it a little better.

Do you work for Interwoven, or is what you just said an educated guess? Here's a good example of why people from Interwoven should say in their reply that they are Interwoven engineers. If this is just some guy, I take his answer with a grain of salt. If he works at Interwoven, I take it as the real answer.

I thought this had been reported some time ago, but a quick check of our internal tracking system and the 5.5.2 version of WFB would seem to indicate that it wasn't.
I have filed a request to get rid of the Add New Type button as I do not believe it has any truly useful function and, as you have noticed, adds confusion.
Hope that helps,

I would hope that there's nothing that's in Workflow Builder that isn't available to those of us who don't, and most likely never will, use Workflow Builder.
