Worksite Web installation - 2 versions?

Hi

Is it possible to install Worksite Web 8.2 at the same time as WW 8.0 is running?

Either on the same web server, or on a separate web server, but against the same Web database?

You cannot have WSW 8.2 installed on the same IIS as WSW 8.0; they must be installed on separate boxes since they consume different versions of iManage.dll.

A key piece of information that you did not supply in your post is the version of the DMS you are running. If you are running DMS 8.2, you should be able to connect two separate installs of WSW 8.x to it.

Hi - DMS is 8.2

So, if I've understood you correctly, I can leave my WSW 8 installation where it is, install WSW 8.2 on another IIS server, and they won't interfere with eachother?

(Thanks for the pointer to the FAQ - that answered one of my other questions about changes to workspace templates.)

Yes, the scenario you described above should work. Just bear in mind that since the 2 separate WSW instances will connect to the same DMS (and the underlying databases), any content created in your 8.2 installation will be available to users in your 8.0 installation and vice-versa.

To make sure that everything works as expected, you should back up your databases and file system and perform this in a test enviornment first. You can also contact Tech Support to see if they have any additional pointers for you.
