iw_if and a hash reference

It's late and I need another pair of eyes to tell me what I am doing wrong here. The XML parser is barking about this: "<iw_if expn = '{iw_value name = "rel->{'pubDate'}"/} < $curYear'>" TIA

I think the problem is the number of quotes you have:

<iw_if expn = '{iw_value name="rel->{'pubDate'}"/} < $curYear'>

Try leaving out the single-quotes surrounding pubDate, or stuff the value into a scalar prior to using the iw_if, or since you have a hash you clearly were using Perl somewhere - just use perl throughout and forget about using iw_if altogether.
