Documentation error for license key generation for SP3?

Howdy.

On page 10 of the "Supplemental PDF" [ts.650.sp3.supp.pdf], step #8 instructs me to go to the https://support.interwoven.com/licensets65sp3.asp site, but it doesn't appear that any such page exists.

So I tried navigating there (off the support home page, clicking on the "SP2 & Later" link under the License Generator section in the bottom right corner, but that takes me to a licensets65sp2.asp that eventually times out as it tries to reach http://support.interwoven.com:8080/License/generateDev2.jsp.

Is this just me??

Any help would be appreciated.

it s weird, i tried your link and it times out before it reachs the full page... but when i navigate to it, it opens just fine http://support.interwoven.com:8080/License/generateDev2.jsp i generate license for ts 6.5 sp2 because there is no sp3 and it also worked fine for me. (even though i dont think i need new license for this update)

I quickly perused that Guide, and I suspect that large parts were created by taking ts.650.sp2.supp.pdf and doing a search and replace /sp2/sp3/ . I suspect that is why it explains how to upgrade from SP1 to SP3, but doesn't document how to upgrade SP2 to SP3.

For me & right now, the http://support.interwoven.com:8080/License/generateDev2.jsp url works.

Either that server was down when you tried it, or perhaps your (corporate) firewall somehow blocks that traffic (e.g. because of port 8080). I know we had a problem with that port being locally blocked in the past.

Thanks for the feedback. It was, indeed, the :8080 port that was choking us up. I had to use an out-of-network PC to submit the license generation request, and I'm just waiting for that to go through now.

Hi,

We alerted the documentation team about the error in the Supplement guide, and it's now updated in the product download areas. You were right, that it was a bug related to converting the doc from an sp2 guide to an sp3 guide, and it was misleading in the license generation processes. The new doc explains an upgrade from sp2 or earlier, and explains that a key is not necessary for an upgrade from 6.5 sp2.
