submit 256 error

Hi,

I am getting the 256 error when i am trying to submit a file which dont have any modified content.
How my workflow will differentiate that the submit is giving problem because of the same copy of files or some other major issue?
I have to call next task on the basis of success/failure of submit task.

Please suggest me how can i do that.

First of all - it's probably not a "256 error" - but an "exit status of 1" (you need to shift the exit status by 8 because of shell padding).
Second - if you look at STDOUT and STDERR - you should see the actual error message - and you can build in code to ignore that specific error message in your code. You may need to replace the submittask with an externaltask in order to ignore such errors (not sure, it's been a while since I've had to deal with this - plus you don't mention what version of TS you are using)
