Search unable to start

I'm working with what's probably a very messed up instance of Search and am very new to their installation so bear with me --

When trying to start the Index, it logs a bunch of **** to iw.tsindex.log and then comes out with the following:

[07 Mar 2007 15:25:48,899] WARN com.interwoven.hunter.index.BranchMapping (WrapperSimpleAppMain) - Initial database not found. Assuming no branches are indexed.
[07 Mar 2007 15:25:48,899] FATAL com.interwoven.hunter.index.IndexManager (WrapperSimpleAppMain) - Error in initialization of the Index Manager
[07 Mar 2007 15:25:48,899] FATAL com.interwoven.hunter.index.IndexManager (WrapperSimpleAppMain) - Could not access the path: Y:\

Everything else appears to be running normally. What might this be?

is event subsystem services running? did you tell teamsite where is the search server?

The event subsystem is not running and I believe I've told TS about search -- at least, I believe that search.properties is set up correctly. Is that what you're referring to?

Wow, okay -- sorry. The problem was the configuration. iw.search.agent.idxdir was dorked up, so I fixed that and now it seems to work.

i am talking about this file:

iw-home\cssdk\cssdk.cfg

you should uncomment the last two lines and specify the search server name

# Search configuration settings - server host and port
# The default values assume that the search server is configured on the
# same host as TeamSite and on port 6720.
#search.server.host:
#search.server.port: 6720

and i think the event subsystem service should be running... that s how i have ti set up but my search server is not on the same box as teamsite...

Oh, I see. Yes, cssdk.cfg was like that already and I'd like to keep the event subsystem off if I can get away with it Smiley Happy
