Removing old images

Is it possible to manipulate the SQL to remove old imagea from MediaBin. I was thinking about something like a stored procedure which would run our of hours to remove images that are flagged using metadata?

A) I would not recommend deleting assets in general

You should probabaly think of creating an archive container and moving assets there. You can accomplish this by writing a script via COM API or WebServices API. I do not recommend going the SQL route. It can make your life painful.

Thanks for your input... I was thinking about moving these images to the recyle bin. Do you have any references to some documentation that covers info on this?

No new data but wanted to say a firm "amen" to not touching the SQL! State in MediaBin spans both the database and the backing store, and messing with the SQL it is extremely difficult to keep everything in a consistent state.
