Learning Content Management Systems

I have looked at previous posts regarding LCMS and LMS intigration. I am wondering if there has been any changes in the past few years for IW being used as an LCMS. It seems that with the XML tools and new product lines that there could be a combination of these things that would translate to an LCMS.

My organization has Teamsite and we are in the market for an LCMS/LMS. However, I would much rather use what we have in Interwoven and use it as the LCMS and have it interface with an LMS. Any new developments in this area since 2005?
