Parsing templating.cfg

I have a dcr(path) from which an html has to be generated.but I have no informtion about the Presentation template and the html location where the html has to be copied to.
Is it good way to parse the templating.cfg based Category Type and Data Type and get the presentation template(one presentation template for each data type) and preview-dir and generate the html.

Have you come across this earlier?

Some time ago John Cuiuli (DevNet Johnny) published a Class DTemplateParse.pm that parses templating.cfg.
I'm sure you can find it in the Tech Library.

Run perldoc against the Class. It contains API Description and usage sample. If you have issues, post your code and explain problem manifestation.

Just note - that class is actually an IWOV class that was provided in the 5.x days - it seemed to have disapeared during one of the 6.x releases - hence why I posted it - I didn't write it, though I think I made some minor changes.

It works well for automatic page generation (with iwpt_compile) in workflows etc.

By the way - how do you even find it in the tech library?... there is no specific search - using the devnet search at the top right of the screen seems to return forum results only.

TemplateParse. So its prerequsite right?
My TeamSite server is 6.5(ContentCenter Proff) so I am not sure if it has IW_CUSTOM: Smiley Very Happy

IW_CUSTOM is just a package name used to separate it from the TeamSite package as it's no longer there. You can change it to whatever you like (IE your package name for custom modules).

However, from the wording in your post, I think you may not be too familar with PERL and PERL modules/packages which is more of your problem here. As it is, the package should go in IWHOME/iw-perl/site/lib/IW_CUSTOM/ .

If you want another way - you could always parse the xml file yourself - which would do the same thing as this module. I think you just need to be a little more familar with PERL packages/modules first.

Currently I am parsing it myself using functions in TeamSite::XMLParser and TeamSite::XMLnode and its working.
