Any language, be it Perl or Javascript or Prolog or Algol 68, can store this value as an array, which you could then extract its individual elements as selected items.

Are you asking how to split these into their own XML elements? TeamSite does not do this - it stores it as you've mentioned.

As Dave mentioned, if all you need to do is pull out the values for displaying, you can do this in your PT inside a PERL block


my @myValues = split(/\,\s/, iw_dcr_value('dcr.my.form.dropdown'));

Maybe if you explain what you're trying to get done (EG use XSLT for display) - we could give you more direct help.

Well I don't think you can change the XML that TeamSite produces.

You may be able to achieve it in XSLT as there are plenty of text processing directives - I'm not sure off the top of my head but it's worth looking into.

If that doesn't work, your other option is to create an intermediate XML via a TeamSite presentation template where you can expand the XML elements in PERL like the example above describes. Then you can run your XSLT over that intermediate XML file.
