Cross reference of taxonomies

Hi,

I'm working on a requirement where I might need to cross-reference two different taxonomies.

Here is my scenario.

Two taxonomies are

1) Business Units
2) Departments.

For a particular Business Unit I would want to populate/display only the related departments taxonomy. I don't want the entire department list. Only that are relevant to the Business Unit.

Is this possible?

The only way to do this today would be to pre-coordinate the two as a single multi-level taxonomy. Parent codes could be added by expansion using iwmtresolveuids.

Thanks. If I can rephrase this, I can do this only if I can combine both the taxonomies into 1 single taxonomy and then allow for tagging.

And also do you think if the Business Rules would be of some help to achieve this.

Business rules could help, but it would be easier to use a post-processor to separate the fields.
