Whenever opendeploy log reaches size of 5MB deployment starts failing

Hi,

Whenever opendeploy log reaches size of 5MB deployment starts failing. Can we have any solution for this so that it stops failing?

Can you please let me know the maximum limit defined for this log. Can we change this limit. Will that help or do we need to follow some other alternative.

Please let us know asap. Speedy replies will be appreciated.

Hi,
which OD version and OS do you use?

we had such an issue on W2K3 OD6.0.2SP1 sender version.
Have a look into odbase.xml, tag

Also we rotate the logs every week.

There are several locations for the setting of log sizes. I have had issues Like this in the past.

Check them all for consistency

odbase.xml

odrcvr.xml

and the config it's self

I checked the OS version and it is W2K3. We are using teamsite 6.5 and thus the version of OD will be it's default version.

Also, I checked odbase.xml and the log size defined in this is 5 MB and in odrcvr.xml it is 32 MB. Can you please advice how to proceed next.

Hi,
try to increase the "maxBytes" value in the odbase.xml and restart the OD service.
In our case we set a value of 50Mb, so that one restart of the OD service every week is enough.

There is no such thing as a "default version" of OD based on TeamSite version.

However - the bug with the logfile growing to 5mb and then causing deployment problems was a known problem that only affected Windows systems. It should have been fixed by a patch or SP or upgrade.

I suggest you check what version of OD you actually have, and then check the support site to look for patches and/or SPs for it.

I suggest you check what version of OD you actually have, and then check the support site to look for patches and/or SPs for it.

- or just contact Support have them look it up for you

Migrateduser

Check for "maxBytes" attribute in the following order:
- deployment config file [if found set to 5Mb, increase to desired value]
- odbase.xml if the issue is at server [look for maxBytes and increase if set to 5Mb]
- odrcvr.xml if the issue is at reciever [look for maxBytes and increase if set to 5Mb]

* Restart services if changes have been made to either odbase.xml or odrcvr.xml

This should resove the issue.
