Different Platform for Authoring and Production Environments for TS/LS

I would like to know if it is possible to have Windows as the authoring (development) environment for TS6.7.1/LS2.2.1 (and 3.0) and the production environment being on Linux. Are we likely to face issues if the platforms are different in two environments? Any issues with LiveSite, OpenDeploy etc?

It depends as how you want to use your Teamsite server. There's not much difference in the code of DCT, TPL, WFT. So it doesn't matter which server you are using but same time if you are using OS groups then it may differ from environment to environment...

You can very well use different platforms for Dev and Prod, however if by any chance you ned to modify any file on Prod then it might got stuck due to permission error.

It can be a user access issue or a group issue, file RW permission issue.

Bad idea in general. Not TS/LS related but case senstivity.

DOS is not case sensitive. Linux is. So when you have /Images but a link that says images it will work in TS but fail in prod.

Going the other way around is fine, Linux to DOS, but you will be debugging a whole lot of problems like this otherwise.
