OD 5.6.0 | DST impact.
sivaramiyer
Hi,
we are on OD 5.6.0 /Solaris 8.
IWOV does not support this version presently and there is not much of official documentation available on this for the impact of DST change.
if anyone around still on this version and would like to know what exactly was done to overcome the DST related issues.
Tahnks much.

You may well need to upgrade OD in order to fix the DST problem, I'm not sure. May I ask why you haven't upgraded? There are some very nice advantages to OD 6.0.1 and later versus 5.6.

I haven't found an impact of DST till now - all the scheduled deployments have been happening on time. Changes that have gone into the hosting servers - only w.r.t the OS. The Solaris OS was patched up for the DST changes - but, there was no changes made to the OD/TS - I m wondering/suspect why this has not given us any problem so far.

Check out the log files. I'll bet that they're an hour behind. Other things are likely an hour behind, too -- like if you were to DataDepoy a NOW timestamp, for instance.

also i think the scheduled deplyment would run 1 hour late...
the store of the day:
we upgraded to OD 6.1 on nov/2006... and the OD base 5.6 that was use at the time suppose to have been out of service and not used anymore...
somebody started that box today, and since it had the old deployment and the schedule is active, it kicked off a deployment and it updated all our sites with content from 2006
imagine the fun and the impact...and that deployment started at 8.30 where it suppose to be at 7.30...

Just wonder if there should be an impact due to DST!! Since clocks are maintained at system level and as long as your system time is fixed for DST other things should work fine.

Sailesh,
well, good thought - I was also thinking on the same lines, but, the JRE
used by OD is way old. The dst updater/patches are not available for that version. and I got to read from the KB article that (for the latest version of OD) - there are patches that need to be applied to fix DST issue.
For example, take the case of TS we are on (6.1SP1) - all the assets modified by TS are an hour behind the system time.
I m thoroughly confused the way things are working - I would have been happy if the scheduled deployments were an hour behind.
