deploy and run a url?

Will be possible to trigger a url using deploy and run?
Anyone has done this before?

Do you mean to access a script via HTTP request? Please elaborate -- if this is what you mean, you could use LWP::UserAgent in your DNR script that will access the URL, for instance.

Sure, like hit a URL to clear a cache ? easy.

Do you need to do it as a DNR or would you do it as part of the deployment script ? Which ever is easier, but since the URL can be run from anywhere (or often can) you could run it from the TS server as well. IMHO that is easier since often you do not have access to the receiver (if it is through the firewall) for debugging.

Use LWP as Dave mentioned.

I'm assuming you know how to implement the DNR from within an OpenDeploy config (RTFM for that) but within your DNR script, you can make an HTTP GET request to that page easily using LWP::UserAgent (http://search.cpan.org/~gaas/libwww-perl-5.805/lib/LWP/UserAgent.pm).
